Equinix is seeking a highly experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to support the reliable operation, capacity growth, and continuous improvement of mission‑critical data center infrastructure. This role focuses on operational support, design reviews, and developing business cases for capacity and efficiency projects at the intersection of engineering, construction, and operations. ResponsibilitiesReview project designs, drawings, specifications, and shop drawings to ensure alignment with industry standards and Equinix objectives. Oversee construction of projects to ensure adherence to design intent, schedule, and quality standards. Support commissioning activities, ensuring equipment qualification and documentation accuracy throughout the project lifecycle. Provide technical leadership across concurrent initiatives, balancing performance, quality, cost, and timeline expectations. Partner cross‑functionally with design, construction, and operations teams to deliver scalable solutions. Serve as a subject‑matter expert for electrical systems in data center operations, conducting root‑cause analysis on incidents and non‑routine failures. Audit existing facilities to ensure compliance with company standards and service‑level agreements. Assess and qualify pre‑selected facilities against pre‑contract requirements and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to develop contract requirements. Identify opportunities for system‑level improvements and future‑proofing infrastructure. Drive adoption of best practices across projects, operations, and vendor execution. Lead and coordinate external partners, including contractors, consultants, and equipment vendors; manage scope, cost control, and change orders.



Champion a culture of safety and operational excellence, ensuring adherence to all safety standards and regulatory compliance. Mentor and support the development of junior engineers and team members, delivering technical training and sharing expertise across teams. Qualifications & Experience7+ years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably within data centers or mission‑critical environments. Proven track record of delivering complex infrastructure projects from design to implementation. Demonstrated experience developing business cases, feasibility studies, or capacity/efficiency analyses to support investment decisions. Experience reviewing engineering designs, drawings, and specifications against standards. Experience working across global or highly cross‑functional teams. Strong knowledge of power distribution systems, UPS and backup systems, electrical design and commissioning. Robust troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis capabilities. Familiarity with industry standards and best practices for mission‑critical facilities. A demonstrated ability to lead projects and influence without direct authority.
