Accounts Payable SpecialistReports To: Supervisor, Accounts PayableDepartment: FinanceLocation: Mississauga Office, hybrid 1-2 daysCompensation: $55,000-$68,000 + Performance BonusThe Reality of This RoleLogistics Alliance is a Mississauga-based 4PL provider moving freight for some of Canada's leading retailers and manufacturers. We're looking for an Accounts Payable Analyst to own carrier and vendor payments end to end, with the accuracy and discipline that keeps our financial operations clean. This is not a data entry job. You will be the person who decides whether an invoice is correct, works out why it is not when it is off, and gets it resolved with the carrier or the internal team behind it. You will also be a real line of defence for the company's money, including spotting fraudulent requests such as a vendor emailing to change its banking details. What Your Day Actually Looks LikeMorning: You start with the newest freight invoices. Each one is checked against the load, the agreed rate and the approvals behind it before it moves forward. Most will match. The ones that do not are pulled aside for a closer look.Mid-Morning: You dig into the exceptions. A carrier billed a rate that does not match the confirmation, an accessorial charge no one approved, or a second invoice for a load that was already paid. You trace the cause, decide what is right and reach out to the carrier or the operations team to get it corrected.Afternoon: You work vendor and internal communication: answering carrier questions, chasing missing paperwork and reconciling vendor statements against what is in Sage 500. If a request comes in to change a vendor's banking details, you verify it independently before anything is touched.Late Afternoon: You review what is aging, decide what needs to be paid or resolved first, and prepare for the next payment run.
You leave transparent notes so anything open can be picked up without a handoff conversation. You'll Thrive Here If...You're precise by default: You catch the $40 discrepancy on a $4,000 invoice because accuracy isn't a step for you, it's a reflex. You're a controls thinker: You don't just process the payment, you confirm the approval exists, the coding is right, and the documentation will hold up if an auditor asks. You investigate, you don't ignore: When an amount doesn't match, you dig into why and drive it to resolution instead of letting it sit.You communicate clearly: Vendors and internal stakeholders always know where a payment stands. You don't wait to be chased. You own your queue: Nothing that matters sits without a resolution. You stay on it until the discrepancy is closed and the payment is clean. What You Should KnowThis role carries real accountability. You are trusted to decide whether an invoice is ready to be paid, and you are expected to stand behind that decision. You will not have someone reviewing every line over your shoulder, and you will be expected to raise issues and improvement ideas without waiting to be asked. If the way we do something can be done better or with less risk, we want to hear it. Asking for direction on priorities is expected. Guessing on payments is not.Key AccountabilitiesInvoice Processing & Payment ExecutionProcess carrier, vendor,

If you want to do precise work that the whole operation depends on, this is the role.
