The role in a nutshellIn this role you will report to the Senior Buyer, Legacy Sites. The Junior Buyer will be responsible for the sourcing and purchase of materials and services for the North American Legacy Sites, Glencore Canada Corporation. The Junior Buyer will have an overall objective of internal controls compliance, value creation and meeting internal customer expectations and requirements. Promoting procurement best practices such as internal controls, volume leveraging and supplier/community relationship management is part of the role.More specifically, you will be expected to:Manage strategic tender processes, including review and assistance in scope of work preparation, preparation of strategies for tenders, management/facilitation of negotiations and the preparation of bid evaluation documents and written recommendations. Contract formation and negotiations.Engage external stakeholders, including communities and supplier bases, in a constructive and professional manner.Work with engineers and other technical end users to translate operational and project needs.Apply innovative strategies around different contractual approaches (e.G., EPC/EPCM/self-construct).Respect and follow internal controls and procurement best practices, including HSEC considerations and fairness in bidding.Maintain good documentation and filing practices.Do you have what it takes?Bachelor’s degree in commerce/economics and an SCMP designation (or similar)



are required.Ability to comprehend and negotiate complex financial and legal terms and conditions.Ability to comprehend site requirements and assist/lead in the development and documentation of explicit, accurate and concise written scopes of work.4‑5 years of experience in major projects purchasing.4‑5 years of experience in mining/reclamation (or similar).Good time‑management skills with the ability to recognize and allocate priorities.Ability to work well in a remote team environment.A valid driver’s license.Knowledge of Coupa, SAP, Ellipse is an asset.TravelThe ability to travel periodically within North America 5‑10%.LanguageProficient interpersonal and communication skills in English and French is an asset.LocationThe role will be located in Toronto; however, other Glencoreoffice or site locations may be considered.Salary and BenefitsThe expected base salary for this position is 76000$ to 105000$, based on competencies, skills and qualifications and aligned with internal equity. The incumbent will also be eligible to participate in a variable compensation plan (bonus).
