Executive Director, Global EngagementReporting to the President and Vice‑Chancellor and working closely with senior academic and administrative leaders across the university, the Executive Director leads the execution and advancement of Western’s global engagement strategy; enables high‑impact international partnerships and coordinated global initiatives; and supports institutional engagement that strengthens Western’s global reach, reputation, and influence. The role is central to positioning Western as a globally connected institution—coordinating international engagement across faculties and units, supporting senior leadership delegations abroad, and building relationships with governments, diplomatic representatives, and leading international organizations.ResponsibilitiesLead the development and implementation of the university’s global engagement strategy and initiatives.Build and sustain high‑impact international partnerships and research collaborations.Coordinate global initiatives across academic and administrative units, ensuring alignment with institutional priorities.Advise senior leadership on international opportunities and emerging global trends.Represent the university in external forums, engage government bodies,



and foster relationships with international organizations.Manage budgets and projects related to global engagement activities.Provide people leadership and develop a high‑performance engagement team.QualificationsSignificant experience in international relations, global partnerships, and external engagement within a complex organization, ideally in higher education.Deep understanding of the global postsecondary landscape and proven success advising senior leaders on cross‑cultural and political matters.Track record of translating global opportunities into institutional impact and delivering transformational outcomes.Solid communication skills, persuasive and inspiring to diverse audiences.Experience in budget and project management; able to lead complex initiatives from concept to execution.Demonstrated capacity for people leadership and team development.Compensation and BenefitsCompensation range: $150,000—$180,000.
