Program Assistant (Casual)Under the direction of the Program Manager/Program Coordinator, plans or participates in the planning of appropriate activities and provides high quality services to clients of the Day Program.ResponsibilitiesParticipates in the planning of appropriate activities for clients of the program under the overall direction of the Senior Coordinator/Program Coordinator.Implements and ensures smooth operation of the activities in a safe, hygienic and supportive setting.Provides timely and appropriate crisis intervention or behavior management and ensures that the clients’ physical, social and emotional needs are appropriately met.Provides timely and appropriate support, information and referral/placement/outreach to clients and volunteers to meet their social, recreational and developmental needs.Works closely with clients and caregivers to ensure appropriate design and ongoing monitoring of care plan/program plan.Ensures appropriate assessment, placement, matching and support for volunteers.Provides effective guidance, training and support to volunteers in the program.Maintains up-to-date and accurate files,



records and statistics on the program.Maintains accurate record of fees and expenditures.Complies with risk management policy for health and safety and infection control.Keeps up-to-date with developments and best practices in the field.Other duties as assigned.QualificationsDiploma in Social Work or Social Services, health sciences, activation, or equivalent.Experience in geriatric rehabilitation is essential.Excellent customer service skills.Ability to work independently and contribute effectively as a team player.Computer literacy in Microsoft Office Suite.Recent certification in CPR.Recent satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Screen result.Fluency in English and ability to converse in Chinese.Must be able to work across different Yee Hong sites as needed.Physical DemandsThis is a casual position.
