Location: Atikokan, ON, CA, P0T 1C0Duration: 6 to 9 month contract (full‑time temporary)Scaling & Quality Coordinator (Contract)Position OverviewReporting to the Quality & Scaling Supervisor, the Scaling & Quality Coordinator will be responsible for accurate measurement and reporting of log quality and volumes delivered to the sawmill.ResponsibilitiesEnsure the application of the highest safety and environmental standards to achieve superior results.Carry out the contractor‑specific random sampling program to measure volume and quality of fibre delivered to the mill.Maintain the volume conversion factors for each log supplier to ensure ongoing, accurate volume measurement by contractor and by procurement area through sampling.Ensure all scaling and fibre measurement programs are conducted in compliance with government scaling agreements and other legal or company requirements.Administer the quality measurement program software, including timely and accurate log quality reporting for supplier feedback and corrective actions.Maintain the scale facilities to ensure accurate measurement of fibre at the mill.Review and file load slips and exception reports on a daily basis.Conduct weekly and monthly physical inventories to ensure accurate estimates of working capital and verification of mill consumption.Maintain regular contact with mill staff to ensure effective interface with primary customers.Provide field services as required for the determination of log quality and direct feedback to suppliers in coordination with the contract administrators.Support all safety and environmental compliance programs, including mill‑specific chain of custody or other certifications.Qualifications1 to 3 years’ experience in the scaling profession or forest product sector preferred.Ontario Scaling Licence or willingness to complete the program.Experience working in a four‑season outdoor workplace.Knowledge of log yard and sawmill equipment.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work as part of a team, communicate with all levels of the organization, and adapt quickly to change.Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills; aptitude for numbers; attention to detail; ability to work calmly under pressure; self‑motivated.Valid driver’s licence.Ability and willingness to travel.Knowledge of MS Office and solid computer skills.The salary range for this position is CAD $59,000 to $73,800 per year, commensurate with education and experience.Our OfferCompetitive salary.Telemedicine services.Employee and Family Assistance Program.Work travel assistance program.A respectful, diverse, and inclusive workplace.Reason for Posting: This is a maternity leave replacement position.Domtar is an equal‑opportunity employer committed to inclusive, barrier‑free recruitment and selection processes and work environments and will accommodate applicants under the Ontario Human Rights Code and the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) throughout all stages of the recruitment and selection process.#J-18808-Ljbffr
