Discover more by following us on LinkedIn!GENERAL FUNCTIONThis role is responsible for the overall transportation flows, including monitoring service performance and identifying and implementing improvements. This role works closely with the Operations teams, serving as the key contact for Transportation. The Transportation Coordinator stays on top of transportation-related financial activities, liaising with Finance to ensure timely payment of all invoices.MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESTrack shipments and monitor service performanceProvide daily/weekly reports to Essilor Canada entities and North American transportationWork with the BI Team to provide the relevant sources of Transportation data for weekly KPI reportingChallenge our freight vendors if the OTP is below targetAttend weekly operations meeting with each of our freight vendors to review service performance and highlight any areas of concernIdentify and implement service performance opportunitiesServe as a subject matter expert, able to identify and resolve any issues across all Transportation flowsProvide reporting and troubleshooting support to Operations team as requiredSupervise inbound shipments (parts and consumable, contact lenses, ophthalmic lenses imported from overseas) andoutbound shipments (ophthalmic lenses and contact lenses distribution to stores and customers)Obtain all the vendor invoice statementsWork directly with our finance BA and logistics analyst to validate the Transportation spendLiaise with AP to ensure Transportation vendors are paid on timeCoordinate with customer service and salesIdentify anomalies and unique trends in complex data to support timely and dynamic approaches to delivering enhanced service levels as well as freight reductions within the Essilor Canada networkTrack savings in transportation projectsSupport annual budget processProvide support to Sourcing team for RFPs, new Freight Forwarders implementations, vendor files maintenance and vendor evaluations (QBRs, etc.)Ensure full compliance with customs and government agency requirementsS Code classificationPerform tasks with a high level of confidentiality, experience, professionalism, detail orientation, thoroughness, and accuracyBASIC QUALIFICATIONS5 + years experience in domestic and international transportation/distribution/ compliance.Extensive experience in Microsoft ApplicationsStrong communication and relationship skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsBilingualism (French, English), an assetPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSPay Range: 77,907.50 - 85,580.00This posting is for an existing vacancy within our business.
