Temporary Labourer (TW)-SeasonalReq ID:28148Vacancy Type: TemporaryContract Duration: up to 6 monthsNumber of Positions:6Closing Date:07/13/2026Job SummaryUnder the general direction of the Assistant Supervisor, Work Operations or designate, this position is responsible for a variety of duties related to the maintenance and operational activities of the Works Operations and Maintenance Division.Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerform routine maintenance of stormwater infrastructure and the cleaning of inlets, outlets and catchbasins.Perform urgent pothole repairs to ensure compliance with MMS regulations and ensuring the City’s roads are kept in a state of safe repair.Operate leaf vacuum and leaf blower to clean leaves from ditches and curbs.Rake along ditches and curbs and perform general cleanup of the municipal right of way.Remove snow and salts from streets, sidewalks, building grounds and other areas.Spread salt on sidewalks, bus stops and intersections for snow and ice control.Operate City vehicles and machinery as required.Perform other duties as assigned.Hours of Work / Shift Work:This position requires occasional overtime.May be assigned to any of the four work districts and relocated during the term to assist with operational needs.Skills and QualificationsMinimum Grade 12 education or equivalent.Previous experience/knowledge related to general outdoor maintenance or the construction industry is preferred.Must have a valid Ontario Class G driver’s license and a clean driving record. A driver’s abstract will be required to verify a driving record in good standing.
