Apera AI
Vancouver
We are an innovative, Vancouver-based startup at the forefront of robotics, AI, and machine vision technologies. Backed by VC funding and we’ve been recognized with the 2025 Frost & Sullivan Technology Innovation Leadership Award, the AAM Supplier Excellence Innovation Award, and the 2024 BC Tech “Company of the Year – Growth”, we are on a mission to redefine the future of AI-driven robotic vision systems. Apera AI helps manufacturers make their factories more flexible and productive.
Robots enhanced with Apera’s software have 4D Vision – the ability to see and handle objects with human-like capability. Challenging applications such as bin picking, sorting, packaging, and assembly are now open to fast, precise, and reliable automation. Apera is led by an experienced team from high-growth companies focused on robotics, artificial intelligence, and advanced manufacturing.
The gap between understanding a business problem and shipping a solution to it has collapsed.
As Business Operations
Engineer, you'll build the internal tools and automations that make Apera run more predictably as we scale. You'll tackle manual workflows, broken handoffs, tools that don't talk to each other in order to ship fixes that stick. Internal tool development.
You leverage agentic software development to build the lightweight, functional tools the business needs — using no-code/low-code platforms, and scripting where it fits.
You take on a backlog of known inefficiencies and ship fixes. You sit between Operations, Sales, Customer Success, and Engineering.
You translate operational pain into buildable solutions and technical constraints back into business terms. # Delivery predictability — projects you own land on the timelines you commit to. # Rollout velocity — time from problem identified to solution in production. # Sustained weekly active usage — tools you ship are still actively used 90 days post-launch and beyond. Hands-on experience in Biz Ops, Engineering, or equivalent — you understand how a company like Apera actually runs. # Demonstrated ability to ship functional tools using AI-assisted development, no-code/low-code, or lightweight automation. You've shipped, not just planned. # Familiarity with AI coding tools and Git. # Direct visibility into every part of the business.
A clear mandate to learn agentic software development in order to fix what's broken. If you've always lived at the intersection of business and technology, this is where your skillset becomes a career. Final compensation will be based on experience, skills, and qualifications, as well as internal equity and market alignment, to ensure a competitive and fair offer.
