Job Title: Communications SpecialistJob type: Full time EmployeeLocation of Position: Ottawa/Gatineau or Calgary preferableReporting to: Communications ManagerRemuneration: In line with market ratesIndicative LOE/Time Frame: Full time over a year with the possibility of extensionLanguage Requirements: Fluency in English and FrenchApplication Deadline: 16 October 2026About the workAlinea International is recruiting a qualified Communications Specialist based in Canada to work on corporate communications for Alinea International, as well as managing and executing communications plans for a number of international development projects.The RoleCorporate CommunicationsSupport the corporate communications teams on creating and executing materials including, but not limited to; social media posts, audio and video content, infographics, and blogsSupport the planning and execution of communications related events, such as webinars, workshops and panel discussionsWrite and develop media materials which can include press releases, media advisories, public service announcements, and blog postsProject CommunicationsEnsure that projects adhere to Alinea's photography and brand guidelines as outlined by corporate HQ in CanadaSupport activities aimed at increasing project awareness and visibilitySupport the team in general communications activities, such as events organized by the projectCollect, draft and publish articles and publications related to project activities on Alinea social media (LinkedIn, Facebook).Write and edit content for project websites,
such as testimonials and updates on the in-country initiativesSupport the team in the collection and management of communications data for the project's reporting and closing activities.Train and mentor in-country communications staff to ensure that they maintain Alinea's brand and reputationAll other related project tasksRequired QualificationsUndergraduate degree in communications, marketing, journalism or a related field (i.E. Bachelor or equivalent); Minimum of three years of working experience in communicationsWritten and spoken mastery of both English and French and language application in a communications contextGood to have QualificationsProficiency in creating digital graphics for websites and social mediaExperience using WordPressExperience with digital photo and video editingKnowledge of international political and social issuesProtectionAlinea is committed to the protection of children and vulnerable adults.
