Role Description: The Cleaner role is a full time, on-site position based in Ottawa, ON. In this role, the Cleaner will perform routine and deep cleaning tasks for residential and commercial properties, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, sanitizing kitchens and bathrooms, and cleaning windows and common areas.

Responsibilities also include properly using cleaning equipment and products, following health and safety guidelines, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene. The Cleaner will be expected to follow schedules, complete assigned tasks efficiently, and communicate any issues or supply needs to supervisors. The role may involve working independently or as part of a team, and occasionally adjusting hours to meet client needs.

Note: Once hired by Supernova Cleaning Solutions, the cleaner understands that they are not guaranteed any hours, however the more contracts we receive the higher possibly of obtaining part-time to full-time hours.

Before being hired by Supernova Cleaning Solutions,



the individual must pass a police background check either through Commissionaires Ottawa or the Ottawa Police at their own cost. However, once the cleaner completes their first job, Supernova Cleaning Solutions will reimburse them for 50% of the total fee.

The cleaner must also take and pass a WHMIS course.

(Once both the background check and WHMIS course have been completed, they must submit both certificates to Supernova Cleaning Solutions via email at [email protected]. The cleaner must also send us a copy of the receipt for the Police background check to be reimbursed)

Qualifications

- Strong knowledge of basic cleaning techniques, including dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and surface sanitizing.
- Ability to safely use and maintain cleaning tools and equipment such as vacuums, mops, and cleaning agents.
- Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work, ensuring spaces are thoroughly cleaned and organized.
- Time management skills to complete tasks efficiently and follow established cleaning schedules.
- Capability to follow instructions, adhere to safety protocols, and comply with health and sanitation standards.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact professionally with clients, supervisors, and team members.
- Physical ability to stand, bend, lift moderate weights, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the workday.
- Previous experience in residential or commercial cleaning is an asset but not required.
- Reliable transportation to job sites in Ottawa and surrounding areas.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings or weekends, based on client needs.
