Ruth and Naomi’s (RAN) is a Christian faith-based organization dedicated to transforming the lives of people experiencing homelessness, poverty, and addiction through the love of God. We walk alongside individuals with hope, grace, and trust, fostering a safe and supportive community where everyone matters.

The Grove is our newest shelter, designed specifically to support older adults experiencing homelessness. With a focus on stability, dignity, and community, The Grove offers a quiet, structured, and respectful environment tailored to the needs of aging adults.

We are currently seeking a Full-Time Permanent Community Support Worker to join our growing team. This role includes a mix of day, afternoon, and overnight shifts and plays a vital part in creating a protected, supportive, and welcoming environment for our participants.

What You’ll Do

- Foster a calm, respectful, and faith-based atmosphere that reflects our values of Grace, Hope, and People.

- Support older adult residents with daily needs, including referrals, advocacy, and emotional support.

- Perform regular safety and wellness checks to ensure the comfort and security of all residents.

- Maintain strong professional boundaries while responding calmly and effectively to crises or behavioral challenges.

- Complete shift documentation, incident reports,



and staff communication logs with accuracy and attention to detail.

- Participate in cleaning duties

Who You Are

- Grade 12 or equivalent; post-secondary education in Social Services or related fields is an asset.

- Experience working with older adults or individuals facing homelessness, addiction, or mental health challenges.

- Familiarity with trauma-informed care, de-escalation techniques, and person-centered support.

- First Aid/CPR Level 1, Naloxone training, and a Class 5 Driver’s License are preferred.

- Flexible and reliable, ideally with the ability to work a rotation of day, afternoon, and overnight shifts.
