Mill Helper – Heavy Equipment Technician/ Millwright Apprentice

Full-Time, Permanent

Location-Woodstock, ON

Pay Rate-$28.15/hour

Shift: Monday–Friday, 3:30 PM–1:30 AM

We are hiring a Mill Helper for a heavy industrial quarry operation in Woodstock, Ontario. This hands-on mechanical role involves performing maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment and industrial machinery while assisting experienced Millwrights with day-to-day maintenance activities.

We are looking for candidates with experience in heavy equipment maintenance, mechanical repairs, troubleshooting, or millwright work who are comfortable working in a heavy industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform and assist with preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on heavy equipment and industrial machinery.
- Assist Millwrights with mechanical maintenance, equipment installation, fitting, and assembly.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical components, including bearings, gearboxes, pumps, belts, and conveyors.
- Work on quarry equipment such as crushers, screens, and related machinery.
- Use hand and power tools to complete maintenance and repair tasks.
- Assist with welding and fabrication as required.




- Identify equipment issues and report maintenance concerns.
- Follow all site safety procedures, including lockout/tagout requirements.

Requirements

- Experience as a Heavy Equipment Technician, Millwright Apprentice, Industrial Mechanic, or in a similar mechanical role.
- Hands-on experience maintaining and repairing heavy equipment or industrial machinery.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills and familiarity with hand and power tools.
- Ability to work safely outdoors, at heights, and in confined spaces.
- Mechanical drawings, welding, and fabrication experience are assets.
- Must pass respirator fit testing and be clean-shaven where the respirator seals.
- English communication skills required.
- Three to five years of relevant mechanical experience preferred.
