Reporting to the SVP Middle Market, you will analyze and underwrite new and renewal business, proactively engage with key brokers and customers, and provide expert solutions on complex accounts. You'll help develop strong client relationships, recommend leading-edge technical solutions, and contribute to process improvements. You will be key in ensuring high-quality service and supporting Zurich's values and business goals. and analyze riskInitiate product development ideas and support training and development for staffProvide expertise on coverage issues with claims and underwriting guidelinesLead marketing presentations for new and existing agents/brokersPromote Zurich's products and services to increase agency penetrationManage projects and provide recommendations for innovative solutionsResearch and analyze data, trends, and best practices to support operational decisionsApply rating tools and methodologies to deliver tailored customer solutionsAdvise senior management on coverage and ensure accurate premium calculationsJob Qualifications – What You Bring To The Table Required:High School Diploma or Equivalent and 5 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing areaORHigh School Diploma or Equivalent and 10 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support areaORZurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 3 or more years of experience in the Underwriting Market Facing areaORZurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 8 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support areaANDKnowledge of Microsoft OfficeExperience working on time restraints for quotes on new and renewal businessExperience working in a team environmentPreferred:Bachelor's degreeAdvanced knowledge of underwriting philosophy, techniques, regulations, and guidelinesStrong negotiation, communication, relationship-building, and presentation skillsAbility to assess risk, deliver solutions, and function effectively in a team environmentDemonstrated technical expertise and problem-solving abilitiesIndustry-specific expertise in commercial lines underwritingMicrosoft Office experienceCompensation and Culture At Zurich Canada, we are committed to pay equity. We determine compensation based on objective criteria such as skills, experience, and internal equity. The salary range for this position is $92,300-$142,000. This range reflects the expected pay for the role across Canada and may vary depending on factors like office location, specific responsibilities, and individual qualifications.
