The Cost

Accountant is responsible for managing and analyzing all aspects of cost accounting within AMTB Ingersoll Blanking facility. This role ensures accurate product costing, inventory valuation, and financial reporting to support strategic decision-making.

The Cost





Accountant will maintain the standard cost system, analyze variances, and provide actionable insights to improve profitability and operational efficiency. Additionally, the position supports budgeting, forecasting, and compliance with corporate financial policies and industry standards. Prepare and analyze key manufacturing variances (material price/usage, labor, overhead absorption, scrap) and communicate drivers to stakeholders.

Identify cost-saving opportunities and partner with Operations and Materials on corrective actions and tracking. Prepare recurring cost/performance reports as applicable Perform inventory reconciliations and ensure accurate valuation, reserves/aging/obsolescence, and scrap/chargeback calculations. Prepare material claims and supporting documentation as required.

Support month-end and year-end close, including inventory/COGS entries, accruals, reconciliations, and reporting packages. Maintain and reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts; Review and post AP batches ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.

Assets / Capital Tracking Support capital justification for new projects Ensure compliance with corporate finance policies and plant quality/environmental requirements (IATF 16949; Support internal/external audit requests and maintain strong documentation and control practices. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation or working towards CPA is an asset. Minimum 3–5 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment; automotive industry experience preferred.

Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros, etc.). Familiarity with AS400 and CMS400 accounting systems preferred. Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, inventory management, and financial reporting.
