Your Opportunity:An exciting opportunity exists to work as a Community Outpatient Recreation Therapist based out of Red Deer Regional Hospital. As a Recreation Therapist I, you will be providing therapeutic Recreation Therapy services to Outpatients as they explore leisure activities in their community post hospital stay. You will be expected to communicate and collaborate effectively with the patients, their families/supports, and with the interdisciplinary team. In this role you will be supported by the Allied Health Area Manager and Recreational Therapy Professional Practice Lead, with opportunities to connect with qualified in surrounding areas. You may also need to collaborate with the Volunteer Coordinator, as well as community partners, to provide effective programming.Description:As a Recreation Therapist I, you will be working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team, providing comprehensive services for patients (clients, residents) within your assigned program or service area. You will ensure the level of therapeutic recreation practice is evidence based, patient-and family-centred, and in accordance with policies, procedures and standards of practice. You will complete assessment, treatment, education and management of clients treatment progress and provide clinical support and consultation.
