In this role, you will support classroom teachers by providing personalized 1:1 assistance to a student. Your role helps students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally, especially those with diverse learning needs.
Responsibilities
- Assist student with daily instructional activities
- Support student individual learning plans by providing tailored assistance in core subjects such as math and reading
- Implement strategies for students with disabilities or special education needs, ensuring they receive appropriate support
- Use effective communication skills to engage with students, encouraging participation and confidence
- Help create a positive classroom environment that promotes respect, inclusion, and active learning
- Support early childhood education initiatives by engaging young learners in age-appropriate activities
Qualifications
- Prior classroom experience or experience working with children in educational settings
- Knowledge of teaching methods and strategies suitable for diverse learners
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in special education programs is preferred
- Understanding of the Ontario curriculum
- Flexibility to pivot during lessons to meet special interests

Pay: $22.00-$25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15.0 per week
