Civil Engineer-in-Training (EIT)Location: Burnaby, BC (Hybrid work model).ResponsibilitiesDesign civil systems associated with municipal water, wastewater, and drainage conveyance facilities.Write technical memorandums and reports.Perform construction inspections.Prepare documentation for design projects and reports.Assist with the preparation of construction cost estimates.Assist with the preparation of project specifications and contract documents.Perform specific and limited portions of broader assignments under the supervision of an experienced engineer.Gather and correlate basic engineering data using established procedures.Work on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.Propose approaches to solve new problems encountered.Identify discrepancies in results.Provide guidance to entry-level engineers.Perform work in accordance with agreed-upon budget and schedule with moderate supervision.QualificationsMinimum RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.2+ years of municipal civil engineering construction experience and a solid understanding of civil design, construction practices,



and contract administration.Preferred QualificationsEligibility for registration or already registered as an EIT within Canada.Experience in civil engineering, hydraulic modelling, planning, and design construction inspection.Working knowledge of contract documentation including MMCD and CCDC.Working knowledge of water, wastewater, and drainage conveyance infrastructure in a municipal environment.Excellent written skills for technical reports.Valid BC Class V Driver’s License and access to a vehicle.Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, contractors, and clients.Comfortable working in a multi‑disciplinary environment.CompensationOffer range: CAD 75,000 – CAD 90,000 per year, based on education, qualifications, experience, and work location.Additional InformationSponsorship for Canadian employment authorization is not available for this position.Equal Opportunity EmploymentAs an Equal Prospect Employer, we believe in your potential and are committed to supporting the hiring process.
