About Alloy River Alloy River builds agentic applied AI for finance and accounting. Accounting today is fragmented, manual, and reactive. Our mission is to transform finance from a slow, labor-intensive, reporting function into a real-time, strategic engine for profit and control.

We re-architected the general ledger from first principles, and layered automation, workflow orchestration, and applied AI directly into its core. Instead of accountants moving data between tools and managing checklists, our system produces outcomes, surfaces exceptions, and compounds leverage over time. River acquires accounting firms and runs them on our platform. This role runs month-end close for those clients, and brings the accounting judgment that shapes what we build next. For the right person, it is a rare path from running the close to shaping the software that automates it, building real AI and product fluency along the way.

Run month-end close for clients, some on our platform and some on legacy ledgers. Perform variance analysis and explain what the numbers are saying. Find inefficiencies in the close,



and help automate what doesn't work.

Add input as the accounting voice for the product team, with transparent feedback on what to build and how. 3+ years of accounting experience. ~ Hands-on experience running month-end close and variance analysis. ~ Bonus experience includes: Experience with QuickBooks Online or Xero. Bilingual (French). You'll report to our Head of Deployment and work closely with her from day one.

Help create a category-defining product with a real impact on business owners. You have a perspective and you share it - in writing, in meetings, in Slack. You think out loud and you're not afraid to change your mind in public.

This is the foundation of how you work and how you treat people. This role pays $70,000-$85,000 CAD. This role is in-person full-time at our gorgeous office in Liberty Village, Toronto. The full team is in the office every day, because we believe the best work happens when smart people are in the same room.
