The team is small, driven, and building for scale.Senior Core Platform Engineer– TorontoAbout the RoleWe are looking for a Senior Core Platform Engineer to lay the technical foundations of IRC's platform and grow with us as we scale. This role sits at the heart of our platform, designing, building, and evolving the surface that makes our capabilities real and accessible to partners and customers through APIs, events, webhooks, GraphQL, and emerging paradigms. You will own how that surface is designed, built, and evolved, and your decisions directly shape what IRC can offer to carriers, brokers, and customers.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and build core platform capabilities: RESTful APIs, GraphQL, webhooks, and event‑driven interfaces.Own core platform architecture decisions: service boundaries, data modelling, API contracts, and foundational patterns for other engineers.Lead integrations with third‑party carriers, payment processors, and SaaS partners, focusing on reliability, error handling, and long‑term maintainability.Make and communicate pragmatic engineering trade‑offs, balancing speed and engineering excellence.Provide technical leadership through code reviews, architecture discussions, and mentoring engineers earlier in their careers.Establish and maintain backend standards: API design conventions, error handling patterns, testing practices,
