The successful candidate will bring 2+ years of experience delivering municipal construction projects, along with a solid understanding of civil engineering design, construction practices, and contract administration.In this role, you will contribute to the delivery of linear conveyance infrastructure projects, primarily within the municipal stormwater, water, and wastewater sectors. You will work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and engage with clients to support project execution.The responsibilities of this position include:Design of civil systems associated with municipal water and/or wastewater /drainage conveyance facilitiesWriting of technical memorandums and reportsPerforming construction inspectionsPreparing documentation for design projects and reportsAssisting with the preparation of construction cost estimatesAssisting with the preparation of project specifications and contract documentsPerforms specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered.Identifies discrepancies in results.Provides guidance to entry level engineers.Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with moderate supervision.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education2+ years of municipal civil engineering construction experience and a solid understanding of civil design, construction practices, and contract administrationPreferred Qualifications :Eligible for registration or already registered as an EIT within CanadaExperience in civil engineering, hydraulic modelling, planning, and design construction inspectionWorking knowledge of contract documentation including MMCD and CCDCWorking knowledge of water / wastewater / drainage conveyance infrastructure in a Municipal environmentExcellent written skills needed for technical reportsValid BC Class V Driver's License and access to a vehicleAbility to communicate effectively with colleagues, contractors and clientsComfortable working in a multi-disciplinary environmentAdditional Information :Sponsorship for Canadian employment authorization is not available for this position.As an Equal Opportunity Employer, we believe in your potential and are here to help you achieve it.
