Role Description This full-time Guidewire Developer role is a hybrid position based in Québec, QC, with flexibility for some work from home.

The Guidewire

Developer will design, develop, and maintain Guidewire-based solutions, including configuration, integration, and customization to meet insurance client requirements.

Responsibilities include implementing back-end services and APIs, writing clean and efficient code, performing unit and integration testing, and troubleshooting technical issues in production and non-production environments. The role involves collaborating with business analysts, architects, and other developers to translate business needs into technical designs, participating in code reviews,



and contributing to continuous improvement of development practices.

The Guidewire

Developer is expected to document technical solutions, follow secure coding and compliance standards, and support deployments and ongoing maintenance activities.

Qualifications

- Solid foundation in Computer Science, including algorithms, data structures, and software engineering principles.
- Hands-on experience in Back-End Web Development and Software Development, ideally in enterprise or insurance-related systems.
- Proficiency in Programming and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), with experience in languages commonly used with Guidewire (e.g., Java, Gosu).
- Experience with Guidewire products (PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, ClaimCenter) in configuration, integration, or implementation roles.
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs, web services, and integration patterns, as well as relational databases and SQL.
- Knowledge of version control tools (e.g., Git) and modern development practices such as CI/CD, automated testing, and code review.
- Ability to work in a hybrid environment in Québec, QC, collaborating effectively with cross-functional and client-facing teams.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with a detail-oriented and quality-focused approach.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience in the insurance or financial services domain and prior consulting or client-facing experience are considered assets
