Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Millwright to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial machinery and equipment to ensure optimal operational efficiency. Your expertise will help keep our production lines running smoothly and safely, contributing directly to our commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

· Installs, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs processing, packaging, and material-handling equipment to keep production lines running safely and at rated output.

· Performs scheduled preventive maintenance on packaging and processing equipment (thermoformers, vacuum packaging, injectors, slicers, scales, conveyors) and completes all work orders with completion notes in the CMMS (Fiix).

· Diagnoses and repairs mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and power-transmission systems, including gearboxes, bearings, chains, belts, pumps, and seals; performs shaft alignment and precision measurement.

· Performs basic electrical troubleshooting (sensors, motors, controls) within the scope of the trade; supports electricians and outside contractors as required.

· Supports facility systems including compressed air, water, dock doors, and general building repairs.

· Follows lockout/tagout and safe work procedures on all equipment; takes part in root cause analysis of repeat breakdowns and recommends improvements.





· Maintains spare-parts stock, identifies critical spares, and assists with parts ordering.

· Works closely with the Maintenance Supervisor and Production to plan repairs and shutdowns.

- Experience

· Ontario Certificate of Qualification – Industrial Mechanic Millwright (433A) or Interprovincial Red Seal required. Final-level (3rd/4th year) 433A apprentices will be considered.

· Minimum 3 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment. Food, meat, or packaging industry experience is a strong asset.

· Experience maintaining packaging and processing equipment (e.g., Repak, Variovac, Fomaco, Holac, Marelec or similar).

· Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, with excellent attention to detail.

· Able to read mechanical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals.

· Basic electrical/PLC knowledge is an assets.

· Lift truck and elevated work platform training an asset, or willing to obtain.

· English proficiency required, including good math and computer skills (CMMS such as Fiix, email, MS Office).

· Knowledge of industrial Food Safety, CFIA, HACCP, and/or BRC is a plus.

· Able to work in a cold, wet plant environment; available for overtime, weekend, and shutdown work as required.

· Must be able to work independently. Reliability and a Safety First attitude are a must.

Pay: $35.00-$42.00 per hour

Expected hours: 44.0 per week
