The opportunityAs a Tax Services Payroll Manager, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Proactively assist in the management of a portfolio of clients, while reporting to Senior Managers, Directors, and PartnersConsult with clients on their employment tax, payroll compliance, and process queriesSupport a team of junior resources in preparing outsourced payroll files, including detailed review of client‑facing deliverables and providing coaching to junior staff on continuous improvement to file preparation and documentationTake ownership of documentation, analyze engagement economics, draft final billing for Partner review, and deliver meaningful individual performance evaluations on a timely basisDevelop strong client relationships and identify potential opportunities to provide additional servicesContribute to the development of your own and your team’s technical acumenParticipate in recruiting activities and develop the capabilities of junior staff through reviewing work, training, and coaching for development and performance managementKeep up to date with local and national business and economic issuesSeek opportunities to learn about how PwC works as a global network of firms while building an internal & external networkFollow risk management and compliance proceduresWhat you’ll bringExperience in multi‑provincial payroll rules and regulations, including exposure to Canadian payroll software’s (e.G. ADP, Ceridian/Dayforce, UKG, etc.)A qualified CPA designation and/or Payroll designation such as PLP and PCP are considered as an asset5 years of experience in a similar role such as a Payroll Specialist, Payroll Manager, Global Mobility or Cross‑Border Payroll Manager or SupervisorStrong understanding of employment tax rules and regulations, payroll delivery, and tax.



Strong knowledge in Canadian payroll landscape including the province of QuebecKnowledge of and experience in global mobility payroll implications including shadow payroll, gross‑ups, and tax equalizations considered an assetProficient with Microsoft Office, passion for excellent client service and excellent organizational skills, a positive attitude and an ability to work effectively on fixed timelines are desirableSuperior communication (oral or written) and interpersonal skills that allow you to thrive in a team workplace with project management skills and efficient at multitasking with a high attention to detailWhen applying to a Quebec based opportunity, fluency in French and English is required. Outside of Quebec, fluency in French is a strong assetThe salary range for this position is $84,700 - $134,700. The posted salary range represents the expected hiring range for PwC locations in major city centres. Given our national recruiting approach, ranges may vary for positions in other locations. At PwC Canada, base salary is determined by your skills, experience, qualifications and work location.
