If you are committed and collaborative professional looking to contribute to a hard-working, innovative team, this opportunity is for you.Reporting to the Automation Manager, the BMS / HVAC Controls Technician works on a variety of equipment and devices to design, program, assemble, install, test, troubleshoot and repair automation controllers/electrical wiring, fixtures, control devices and related equipment in buildings and other structures.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESDevelop and implement automation programming, design graphics, and handle commissioning for recent construction projects while providing servicing for existing clients.Responsible for all Low Voltage Electrical work, including:Maintenance, service, installation and replacement or repair of motor control centers, switches, panelboard components, low voltage branch circuit wiring, transformers, control devices and IO devices; Troubleshootingand minor repairs on hardware and sensors; Shut-down, lock-out, and start-up of automation systems and building equipmentProvides onsite estimatingOffer expert recommendations for automation solutionsProvides automation/controls support for the HVAC service team; assist with HVAC control installations in commercial buildingsAdheres to all company policies, procedures, and standards, and performs other assigned duties as neededCOMPETENCY REQUIREMENTSChange Orientation (open to change and the ability to identify where it is needed and how to make it happen)Communicates Effectively (verbally and in writing)Continuous Learning (ongoing effort to learn and contribute to the learnings of others)Customer Focus (understands the needs and perspectives of both internal and external customers)Holds Self and Others Accountable (takes personal responsibility to meet commitments)Problem Solving and Innovation (ability to approach problems logically and seek innovative solutions)Teamwork and Collaboration (works cooperatively and collaboratively with others)Values and Respects Others (encourages and supports diversityEDUCATION REQUIREMENTSElectrical or Electrical / Mechanical / Instrumentation Engineering certificate is recommendedN4 certified.WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS3+ years of HVAC automation experience in the ICI sector (Institutional, Commercial, Industrial)3+ years estimating experience considered an assetSKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTSExperience with, JCI FX, & Honeywell BAS and HVAC systems an assetKnowledge of computer software's such as Microsoft and mobile device applicationsFollows written and verbal instructionsMaintain a professional demeanor and courteous phone etiquette when interacting with colleagues, customers, and stakeholdersTravel to various sites, including out-of-town locations as needed, and be available for occasional overtimePhysical requirements: bending, lifting up to 30 kg, working at heights, and in confined spacesClean & Valid Class 5 AB Driver's License and abstractApplicants must be eligible and willing to join Local Union 424 upon employment.Please be advised that a Criminal Background Check and Professional Reference Check will be required as part of our employment screening and selection process.
