THE ROLE

We are currently seeking a Meat Clerk to join our Root Cellar team! As a Meat Clerk, you will be responsible for various duties including the cleaning and organization of the department, prepping ingredients for our many in-house products, and wrapping and rotating stock for our displays. Our Chop Shop Meat Market offers a high-quality selection of locally sourced fresh and cured meats and delicious value-added items made in-house using the freshest ingredients from our store.

- Ensure that product quality, freshness, and presentation meet our high standards.
- Follow all workplace and food safety policies and procedures.
- Clean floors, counters, worktables, trays, and equipment.
- Prepare, wrap, weigh, label, and price various meat & seafood products.
- Stock displays to ensure adequate product levels in the department.

What You Bring To The Table

- This position requires the candidate to lift up to 50 lb, bending, stand for shift duration, climb stairs, preform repetitive tasks, work in coolers (4°C) and freezer (-20°C) for extended periods of time, work with raw meat (pork, chicken, beef, turkey) and work near hot ovens/work with sharp knives..
- The ability to multi-task and work efficiently in a busy setting.
- The ability to work well within a team.
- Previous retail/customer service experience is an asset, but we are willing to train the right person with the right attitude!
- Provide superior customer service.
- Be willing and available to work morning shifts starting at 6:00 am.
