PositionUnion/Affiliation: Administrative and Professional Staff (APSA)Pay range: $53.16 to $63.42 hourlyGrade: 12Number of openings: 1Hours: BiweeklyLocation: SFU Image Tech Lab in Surrey Memorial HospitalOverviewAs a Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) regulated by the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT), the MRT delivers quality care to research participants at SFU’s Image Tech facility, works closely with faculty to support the research laboratory, and maximizes the potential of research equipment and resources.ResponsibilitiesPerform special procedure examinations.Ensure care provided is protected.Maximize potential of research equipment and resources.QualificationsCurrent registration in Magnetic Resonance with CAMRT and at least three years of related experience, including MRI procedures.Excellent knowledge of MRI techniques, equipment, and supplies.Excellent knowledge of standards of practice and guidelines for Medical Imaging practitioners established by CAMRT and/or other relevant national professional associations.Excellent knowledge and practice of safe work procedures with radiology and scanning equipment.Positive knowledge of current MRI scan theory and practices.Good knowledge of research process and methodology.Good knowledge of radiology information systems (digital imaging, image archiving and retrieval).Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).Excellent supervisory skills and ability to manage clinical imaging staff and/or other professionals.Ability to analyze and interpret data, determine implications, and provide recommendations.Ability to recognize potentially dangerous situations and take appropriate action.Ability to exercise sound judgment, tact and discretion.Ability to develop procedure protocols and manuals.Ability to work effectively with research participants, faculty, and staff, including external agencies.Ability to deal with and/or guide others in conflict resolution.Ability to work independently and in collaboration with others.Ability to plan and establish workload priorities in collaboration with others.Demonstrated ability in CPR techniques.Proficiency in the use of computer applications.BenefitsAdditional 7% pay in lieu of benefits & 8% vacation pay (APSA).Employer-paid extended health & dental plans.Professional development funds (minimum contract period of 1 year).Hybrid-work program for eligible positions.#J-18808-Ljbffr
