CakeyHand is a family-owned celebration cake bakery with three locations in St. John's and Paradise: Stavanger Drive, Topsail Road and the Avalon Mall. We make birthday, wedding and custom cakes, plus a full case of pastries, cheesecakes and macarons.

We're hiring our first Operations Manager to run the day-to-day of all three stores, so the owners can focus on growing the business. This is a new role with real authority. You'll build how our stores run, not just keep them running.

What you'll own

- People: schedules for all three stores, coverage and sick calls, hiring front-of-house staff, coaching, corrections and, when needed, exits.
- Standards: making sure opening, closing and shift checklists are done properly every day, and following up when they're not.
- Store supervisors: leading and developing the supervisors at each location.
- Daily operations: supplies, store readiness, store-to-store logistics, facility issues.
- Customer service: service quality on the floor, complaints and making things right.

What you won't do: bake.



Our head baker owns the kitchen and the product; you'll work closely with her, but your job is the stores and the people.

What success looks like in your first 90 days

- All three schedules, sick calls and staff requests run through you, not the owners.
- Daily standards checks running at every store, with misses followed up.
- The owners haven't been pulled into a floor issue in weeks.

You're a fit if you have

- 3+ years managing a store, restaurant or retail team. Multi-location experience is a strong plus.
- A track record of holding people accountable, including experienced staff who push back.
- Experience building schedules and handling coverage.
- Comfort with easy systems: checklists, an ops platform, a POS.
- A driver's licence and a vehicle, since you'll move between three locations.
- Food handler certification, or willingness to get it in your first month.

Pay: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
