Make a meaningful difference at Legal Aid Ontario as a Paralegal in the Immigration Detention Representation Program. Support the legal rights of clients in detention through representation and strategic initiatives. This role is integral to LAO's Refugee Law Office in Toronto.

You will advocate for the liberty interests of immigration detainees while working collaboratively with multidisciplinary staff. Ideal candidates should have experience in court representation and a commitment to serving diverse communities. Key Responsibilities:

- Represent immigration detainees at detention reviews
- Develop release plans and alternatives to detention
- Assist management with the IDRP administration
- Participate in legal education initiatives
- Collect data, docket, and produce reports Requirements:
- Experience in a legal setting preferred
- Proven representation skills in court or tribunal
- Lived experience within immigrant communities is an asset
- Multilingual abilities encouraged, especially in French
- Knowledge of MS Teams, Word, and Adobe PDF Advocate for justice and support vulnerable populations while growing your paralegal skills at Legal Aid Ontario.
