General LabourerWGC has openings for General Labourers to join our team.Reporting to the Superintendent, you are responsible for supporting various deep excavation and shoring projects throughout the southern part of The Island.Reporting to the Superintendent, you will work closely with Hydraulic Drillers and the Shoring and Foundation team to support drilling operations on-site across various projects.Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssist with daily drilling operations and setup on-siteSupport positioning and alignment of drill rigs and equipmentHandle and organize tools, drill rods, casings, and materialsLoad and support self‑drilling anchor installations on Percussion DrillsEnsure hydraulic and airline hoses are properly connected and free of obstructionsPerform pre‑checks on equipment and assist in maintenance and cleaningAssist with anchor installation, grouting, and casing removal under directionFollow instructions to maintain a secure and efficient work environmentAttend and actively participate in all mandatory safety meetingsPerform physical tasks including lifting, climbing, and working on congested worksitesEnsure site is clean, organized, and compliant with safety standardsWhat We Are Looking ForExperience in Pipe and Foundation Anchor Operations an asset but not required1+ years of experience in a construction or drilling environment preferred but not required.Familiarity with shoring,



anchoring, or ground engineering is an assetPhysically fit to work: ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work at heightsWillingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions and ground environmentsSelf‑motivated, reliable, and eager to learnAbility to follow direction and work effectively within a crewGood communication skills and a strong safety mindsetHolds a valid driver’s license and can travel within the Province of BCCompensationThis is a unionized position with WGC - BC Regional Council of Carpenters. This position will earn Union wages and will have access to extended Union healthcare and benefits, a Union-sponsored pension plan, and additional training through the Training Plan.
