Peter's Residence at Chedoke is seeking a part time Recreation Programmer to join their team! *Starting Bonus: For joining Thrive Group, you can earn an additional $500! Peter’s Residence at Chedoke is a not-for-profit 221 bed long-term care residence located in Hamilton’s Chedoke community. Built in 2004, the home has seven terraces accommodating 30-32 residents on each.

Peter’s Residence at Chedoke offers quality care in a home-like environment, nurturing body, mind and spirit. Staff deliver care and services based on individual care plans that emphasize best practices and resident-centered care. Shifts are 12:00pm-8:00pm and every other weekend.

Please note this position supports residents on our secure unit. Provide therapeutic recreation programs that improve and maintain the physical, mental, social, and emotional well-being of 30 to 60 long term care residents residing on one or two assigned 30-bed Terraces at St. College diploma in Recreation or Gerontology as a field of study from an Ontario postsecondary institution or a postsecondary diploma, degree or certificate granted from another jurisdiction that the home reasonably believes is equivalent.





May require post graduate Therapeutic Recreation Certificate and/or equivalent. Proven ability to design therapeutic recreation programs. Strong leadership skills that are customer-service focussed in keeping with the "Care Culture" of St.

Competent personal computer skills (e.g.

Microsoft

Office…) Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
