ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
- River Chiropractic is seeking a Registered Kinesiologist (R.Kin) interested in developing and operating their practice within a modern chiropractic clinic in Ottawa.
- This opportunity is designed for a Kinesiologist who wants the independence of managing their own professional practice while benefiting from an established clinical environment, shared resources, and administrative support.
- We are looking for a practitioner with an interest in active rehabilitation, therapeutic exercise, movement assessment, injury prevention, and functional recovery, who values collaborative patient care.
- There is no fixed monthly room rental fee and no requirement to purchase the standard equipment or administrative systems provided by the clinic.
- Instead, the Kinesiologist and River Chiropractic will operate under a mutually agreed revenue-sharing arrangement based on payments actually collected from patients and applicable third-party payers.
- The specific revenue-sharing structure will be discussed with selected candidates before entering into an agreement.
WHAT RIVER CHIROPRACTIC PROVIDES
Our goal is to allow the practitioner to focus primarily on patient care, rehabilitation programming, and developing their practice while the clinic supports the operational side.
River Chiropractic will provide:
- A professional clinical environment with access to designated treatment space and available rehabilitation equipment
- Treatment table, computer, Wi-Fi, and clinic systems
- Practice-management software, online booking, and scheduling infrastructure
- Reception, payment processing, and administrative support
- Administrative assistance with eligible insurance claims, receipts, and payment reconciliation
- Clinic operations, cleaning, utilities, and general facility management
- Opportunities for professional collaboration with the clinic's chiropractor
There is no fixed room rental fee and no required upfront investment in the clinic's standard equipment or administrative systems.
If the Kinesiologist requires additional specialized rehabilitation equipment, exercise tools, or other resources, we are open to discussing those needs together.
COMPENSATION & PRACTICE MODEL
This is not a salaried or hourly position.
Compensation is based on an agreed share of revenue actually collected from the Kinesiologist's services, rather than simply the amount invoiced.
The arrangement includes:
- No fixed monthly rent
- No standard room-rental payment
- No upfront cost for the clinic's standard equipment and systems
- A revenue-sharing structure mutually agreed upon before the collaboration begins
- Administrative support with patient payments, receipts, and eligible third-party billing
The Kinesiologist will maintain professional independence over their clinical decision-making, treatment planning, and professional responsibilities, in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements and the agreed practice arrangement.
SCHEDULE & FLEXIBILITY
- We welcome both part-time and full-time practitioners.
- The Kinesiologist may develop a full-time practice at River Chiropractic or maintain a smaller schedule based on their availability and patient bookings.
- Scheduling will be coordinated according to clinic operating hours, practitioner availability, and treatment-space availability.
- We are looking for the right long-term professional relationship rather than imposing a rigid schedule.
PATIENT BASE & PRACTICE GROWTH
Applicants should understand that an established Kinesiology patient roster is not included with this opportunity.
The Kinesiologist will be responsible for developing their professional practice and patient base over time.
River Chiropractic will support this through:
- Clinic administration and patient communication
- Professional clinic and online presence
- Reasonable marketing collaboration
- Opportunities for interdisciplinary patient care
- Collaboration on active rehabilitation and exercise-based treatment programs
- Referrals from the clinic's chiropractor when Kinesiology services are clinically appropriate for the patient
This opportunity may be particularly appealing to a Kinesiologist interested in helping patients transition from passive treatment toward active rehabilitation, improved movement, and long-term functional independence.
Internal referrals will always be based on patient needs and clinical appropriateness and should not be considered a guaranteed source of patient volume.
RESPONSIBILITIES The Kinesiologist will be responsible for:
- Conducting comprehensive assessments of human movement, functional ability, mobility, and physical performance
- Developing and implementing individualized, evidence-informed rehabilitation and therapeutic exercise programs
- Supporting patients recovering from musculoskeletal injuries and functional limitations
- Providing exercise-based interventions focused on strength, flexibility, balance, coordination, and mobility
- Monitoring patient progress and adjusting rehabilitation programs according to clinical findings and patient goals
- Providing education on injury prevention, ergonomics, physical activity, and movement strategies
- Obtaining informed consent and maintaining accurate clinical documentation
- Maintaining appropriate communication and follow-up with patients
- Meeting all College of Kinesiologists of Ontario (COKO), privacy, recordkeeping, and professional requirements
- Collaborating professionally with the clinic's chiropractor and other healthcare providers when clinically appropriate
- Practising within the professional scope of Kinesiology and their individual competence
River Chiropractic will manage much of the operational and administrative workload, while the Kinesiologist remains responsible for the professional and regulatory aspects of their practice.
QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must:
- Be registered and in good standing with the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario (COKO) and authorized to practise
- Maintain professional liability insurance meeting COKO requirements
- Be legally entitled to practise Kinesiology in Ontario
- Demonstrate knowledge of musculoskeletal rehabilitation, human movement, biomechanics, and therapeutic exercise
- Demonstrate strong clinical reasoning, communication, and patient-care skills
- Be capable of independently assessing patients and developing appropriate exercise-based rehabilitation programs
- Be comfortable practising independently while collaborating within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment
- Maintain professional standards relating to documentation, informed consent, privacy, and billing
Both newly registered and experienced Kinesiologists are encouraged to apply.
Experience in musculoskeletal rehabilitation, corrective exercise, sports injuries, or functional rehabilitation is considered an asset.
