JOB POSTINGPosition Title: Finance Officer- Full-time - Permanent PositionPosition Description: Under the general direction of the Accounting Manager, the Finance Officer will perform internal control functions, account reconciliation, general ledger administration and preparation of audit working papers.Major Responsibilities:Process and/or verify financial transactions in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal policies and proceduresComplete weekly Accounts Payable cycle meeting organizational deadlinesSet up and maintain vendor accounts to ensure current dataMonitor and enforce existing financial policies and procedures and assist with identifying areas for improvement relevant to accounting and internal control, budgeting, forecasting, and project trackingCommunicate and collaborate with the Accounting Manager as well as the Finance Department Staff to ensure consistent practices and procedures within the departmentAssist with the internal development,



leadership and mentorship of other Finance department staff including Finance Clerks in order to improve internal capacityCollate information for various reports and remittances to funding/government agencies and managementPrepare account reconciliationsPrepare journal entries as requiredAssist with audit and prepare audit working papersAttend meetings as requiredPerforms other related duties as may be assignedWorking Conditions:Travel may be requiredManual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripheralsMust be able to lift 30 poundsOvertime as requiredQualifications:Diploma or degree in accounting is required, combined with a minimum of three (3) years experience in the accounting field. Enrolment in the Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) program of study is encouraged.Experience working within First Nations management.Ability to work within a team setting and quick-paced work environment and is expected to initiate and problem-solve with collaboration from supervisors.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.Accuracy and attention to detailHigh level of experience of financial software is required (Microsoft Dynamics would be considered an asset).Must be bondable and pass a Criminal Reference Check.Salary: $64,336 AnnuallyJob Posting Closing Date:Applications, consisting of a cover letter and resume with three (3) references, must be received by 11:59 pm on Sunday, October 11, 2026.
