The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the firm, leading the engineering department and reporting directly to the President. The Building Envelope Lead Engineer is the go-to person for clients and will help build long-term relationships.Summary:This position will contribute to business growth by developing internal knowledge systems and training our team of engineers and designers. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in building science and structural restoration, including roofing, waterproofing, structural rehabilitation, masonry, windows, curtain walls, sealants, EIFS, site pavements, and other cladding systems. The successful candidate should also have experience leading project teams with various levels of staff and peer-reviewing designs, specifications, and reports.Accountabilities:Act as technical lead and senior peer reviewer on projectsOversee technical review of documents from project managers and junior staffConduct investigations and prepare technical reports for parking garages, roofing, building envelopes,



and leakage assessmentsPrepare specifications and manage the tendering processProcure new projects and clients through business development and proposal effortsAttend industry events to increase our firm's technical profileDevelop internal technical practice systems and train junior staffExpedite projects from inception through investigation, specification, and construction stagesEnsure timely and accurate invoicing, monitor receivables, and manage project financial healthSeek opportunities to increase client satisfaction and develop lasting relationshipsDesign scalable façade/envelope systems for buildings, including curtain walls, cladding, and glazing systemsOversee manufacturing, fabrication, and installation of building envelope systemsExpand product offering for efficiency and sustainabilityDevelop and review design documents, specifications, and assembly drawingsUpdate corporate standards and devise innovative approachesCollaborate with architects, contractors, and design professionals for seamless integrationUse computer modeling and simulation software to optimize building envelope performanceResearch new materials and technologies for innovationProvide technical support during all design and assembly phasesConduct assessments and site inspections to ensure compliance with building codesRequirements Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Post-Secondary Education in Engineering or Architectural Technology; Minimum of 8 years of related experience as a consultant in building science; P.
