Senior Electrical Engineer – Buildings ProjectsFull‑time, Alberta (Calgary). Hybrid work model. Compensation: CAD 105,000 – 150,000 per year.The Buildings & Places Team delivers engineering, architectural and project management services for vertical construction projects, including commercial, institutional, healthcare, pharmaceutical, water/wastewater and transit facilities.ResponsibilitiesDevelop reports for schematic design, design development, building assessment, and design‑build/assist scope of work documents.Prepare electrical drawings and specifications.Implement design concepts through detailed drawings of medium‑voltage power utility coordination, low‑voltage power, fire alarm, lighting, and specialty low‑voltage systems rough‑ins (telecom, intrusion control, security, CCTV, door access controls, etc.).Provide technical and administrative support throughout all phases of the project.Conduct research to gather industry, field, and project‑specific data.Ensure designs comply with all applicable codes and standards.Collaborate with prime consultants, engineering consultants, clients, and contractors; respond to technical queries.Construction administration responsibilities:Attend site meetings and reviews,



documenting reports.Conduct shop drawing reviews.Prepare SI and CCN documents.Review contractor change quotations.Review progress billing.Review fire alarm verification reports.Qualifications (Required)University degree in Electrical Engineering.Minimum six (6) years of electrical engineering experience on institutional, commercial, and light‑industrial projects.Licensed Professional Engineer.Preferred QualificationsTen (10) or more years of electrical engineering experience on institutional, commercial, and light‑industrial projects.Experience leading electrical design and commissioning, including electrical distribution systems and equipment up to 25 kV, variable‑speed drives, instrumentation & control systems.Excellent written and oral communication skills.Proven interpersonal skills and ability to work within a multidisciplinary environment.Membership or eligibility for registration with APEGA as P.Eng. considered favorably.Experience with CAD platforms such as ETAP/SKM, Revit MEP, AutoCAD, and MicroStation for contract document production.Familiarity with the Canadian Electrical Code (NEC or IEC exposure is an asset).Proficiency in power analysis software such as ETAP and SKM; proficiency in AGi32 lighting design software is an asset.Fire alarm verification and telecommunication experience.Equal Prospect EmployerAs an Equal Chance Employer, we are committed to keeping all information confidential in accordance with EEO guidelines.#J-18808-Ljbffr
