Senior Electrical Engineer – SubstationsFull-timeEmployee Type: RegularCompensation: CAD 131,200 - CAD 180,400 per yearWe are looking for an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Energy & Resources team, focusing on substation and renewable energy projects across Canada.ResponsibilitiesAct as the main technical lead and client‑facing representative, quarterbacking project delivery and facilitating key stakeholder discussions.Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams for full substation project delivery, including civil, structural, protection & control, SCADA, and telecommunications.Mentor and develop junior engineers, fostering a high‑performing and collaborative team culture.Design electrical systems and create technical specifications for substation and balance‑of‑plant equipment.Prepare detailed plans and specifications for HV/MV substation projects.Provide engineering expertise for electrical installations in utility substations, wind, solar, and battery energy storage projects.Write and review technical reports, engineering assessments, and design documentation.Ensure design compliance with industry standards, codes, and client requirements.Collaborate with internal teams and clients to deliver optimized and high‑quality engineering solutions.Occasionally travel to project sites for inspections, assessments, and client interactions.QualificationsMinimum 15 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering with a strong focus on substation and renewable energy systems.Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.)
