Review and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, addenda, and tender documents

Prepare detailed material, labour, equipment, and subcontractor estimates

Perform accurate quantity takeoffs

Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations

Prepare competitive bids and tender submissions

Identify project scope, exclusions, risks, and potential cost impacts

Communicate with general contractors, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams

Maintain estimating documentation and pricing information

Assist with value engineering and alternate pricing where appropriate

Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits when required

Coordinate with project managers and operations throughout the estimating and bidding process

Key Responsibilities

What We're Looking For

3+ years of experience estimating commercial electrical projects

Strong knowledge of commercial electrical construction methods and materials

Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and specifications

Strong understanding of Canadian electrical codes and construction practices

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

Ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines

Strong communication and negotiation skills

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and estimating/takeoff software

Experience with Accubid, Live Count, or similar estimating software is an asset

Electrical trade experience, construction background is essential
