The HVAC / Refrigeration Technician is responsible for health of the heating, ventilation, and mechanical systems of all assets throughout their assigned properties. The HVAC / Refrigeration Technician will work closely with Maintenance staff to perform service calls to all buildings and follow/carry out a preventative maintenance program and processes that ensure the desired lifespan and efficiency of applicable mechanical systems in our apartments in Alberta. This role will also train other Maintenance Technicians to improve overall Refrigeration and HVAC knowledge. The HVAC / Refrigeration Technician will complete and oversee the hands‑on repairs and upgrades to HVAC, plumbing/heating and other mechanical systems.Your Contributions to the TeamDiagnose and repair issues with residential air conditioners and other related equipmentUnderstand and be accountable for the performance and maintenance of the mechanical systems throughout AlbertaPerform maintenance, servicing, and cleaning on all equipmentCoach maintenance teams regarding the servicing of refrigeration and HVAC units and componentsRecharge systems with refrigerant, check and test regulators, calibrate systems and perform routine maintenanceTest repaired equipment for proper performancePerform routine and emergency maintenance of HVAC units and associated componentsKeep detailed and accurate maintenance reports and documentationMaintain a working knowledge of changes in technology, compliance and repair techniquesUnderstand and be accountable for the performance and maintenance of the mechanical systems throughout assigned regionWhat You Need To Be SuccessfulMinimum of Class B Ticket authorized by Provincial GovernmentRefrigeration Technician certificate or equivalentStrong working knowledge of refrigerant systems and make‑up air unitsMechanical and electrical knowledge an assetExcellent organizational and communication skills including both oral and writtenExperience with high‑pressure work environments and proven time management skillsAbility to work in a fast paced and independent environment with minimal supervisionBasic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and emailWilling and able to travel between sitesWhat We OfferEmployees enjoy a wide range of benefits and competitive reward.
