Job DescriptionAs a certified designated Journeyman Welder, the person in this position will be responsible for providing the welding capability and expertise for working on a rotational basis in both the Fabrication and Pump shop within PC Pump. Welders are also responsible for providing day‐to‐day support to other areas of the Business relating to welding repairs, equipment breakdowns and retrofits as required.GeneralWeatherford CPS PC Pump is a part of Weatherford International and takes pride in manufacturing quality products. Job descriptions are developed to define explicit responsibilities and authorities at the facility.Primary Duties and ResponsibilitiesAll welding duties related to Weatherford PC pump production and fabrication activitiesPump shop – welding stators, rotors, and pump accessories as directed by Lead Hand in Pump shopMiscellaneous day‐to‐day duties include plant repairs, breakdowns, and welding for related Business Units (GBU) as requiredAbility to work on specialty assignmentsCompliance with all Weatherford safety regulations,
company policies and competency in the use of related equipmentSupport and follow continuous process and quality improvement initiatives and ensure quality workmanshipParticipate in required training programs and provide feedback on quality, safety, security, and environmental issues to managementQualificationsCertified Journeyman Welder with demonstrated competence with MIG welder process and MIG welds, SMAW welding process and SMAW weldsAbove‐average interpersonal skills, acting as a resource to all employees and able to work in a team environmentAbility to interact and communicate effectively with personnel in all sections within the facilityCapability of working shift work/overtime as required and rotating through Pump and Fabrication shopsSafety‐minded individual, willing and committed to receiving required and ongoing mandatory safety training as a condition of employmentAttention to detail and ability to read blueprints and diagrams of components not yet built
