As a Software Engineer , you’ll build and own backend services, infrastructure, and data systems that support Robinhood’s next-generation crypto, web3, and wallet offerings.

You’ll develop innovative solutions to deliver a best-in-class trading experience for cryptocurrencies and tokenized assets—including perpetual futures—to customers worldwide, while solving complex scalability and correctness challenges in an environment where the systems you build move real customer assets continuously around the clock.

The Robinhood

Wallet team’s mission is to democratize access to financial services worldwide by leveraging DeFi protocols and Robinhood Chain. The Tokenization team’s mission is to bring both public and private equity to be tradable 24/7 on decentralized exchanges (DEXs) across the Robinhood Chain. Equity markets have been closed nights and weekends for a century; The team continuously improves Robinhood Chain to provide a best-in-class decentralized platform for trading real-world assets, builds specialized smart contracts, and provides infrastructure services for other Robinhood teams that rely on DeFi.

These roles are based in either our Toronto, Canada office, with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week. At Robinhood, we believe in the power of in-person work to accelerate progress,



spark innovation, and strengthen community. Our office experience is intentional, energizing, and designed to fully support high-performing teams.

Design, build, test, and deploy scalable backend services and infrastructure across Robinhood Wallet, Tokenization, and Web3 platform systems, with correctness and auditability as hard requirements. Build the connective tissue between traditional market infrastructure (brokerage, ledgers, corporate actions) and on-chain systems, including smart contract integrations, chain indexers, and DEX trade flows. Identify and implement improvements to system performance, engineering productivity, and risk reduction.

Collaborate closely with product, compliance, client, platform teams, and external partners to deliver impactful technical solutions. 2+ years of experience in software development. ~ Expertise in backend development using languages such as Go, Python, or Java, with a solid grasp of cloud-native architectures. ~ Strong grasp of system design, data modeling, and software engineering fundamentals. ~ Care for correctness-critical systems—idempotency, reconciliation, and reasoning carefully about failure modes when money is at stake. ~ Strong ownership mindset, with a track record of delivering high-quality projects end to end in cross-functional environments and raising team-wide technical standards.

Monthly commuter stipend to help offset in-office commuting costs In addition to the base pay range listed below, this role is also eligible for bonus opportunities + equity + advantages.
