Duties
Transparent snow and ice from sidewalks, walkways, stairs, and entrances using shovels, snow blowers, or other manual tools
Apply salt or sand to prevent slipping hazards on cleared surfaces
Snow removal occurs thru the night.
Perform routine inspections of work areas to ensure safety standards are met and surfaces are properly maintained
Maintain and store equipment such as shovels, snow blowers, and salt spreaders in good working condition
Follow safety protocols at all times to prevent slips, trips, falls, or equipment accidents
Assist with minor maintenance tasks on tools and equipment as needed
Skills
Ability to operate hand tools such as shovels and brooms efficiently
Mechanical knowledge for basic maintenance of snow removal equipment like snow blowers and salt spreaders
Must be able to reach shop in Rockland or the park and ride in Orleans or Place DOrleans
Physically fit. Ability to work thru the night.
Solid physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks in cold weather conditions
Attention to detail to ensure thorough snow removal and safety compliance
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while adhering to safety guidelines
