Join the Town of Whitby as a Senior Mechanical Inspector, where your HVAC and plumbing expertise can enhance our community. In this role, you will ensure that HVAC and plumbing installations comply with the Ontario Building Code.

Reporting to the Supervisor of Building Services, you’ll perform inspections, maintain records, and liaise with various stakeholders. As an experienced skilled, you’ll also mentor other team members and contribute to our inclusive culture of collaboration and respect. Key Responsibilities:
Perform HVAC and plumbing inspections within legislated timelines
Update AMANDA folders daily with inspection entries




Conduct plans examination for Part 7 building compliance
Liaise with building inspectors and fire prevention officers
Enforce building code and issue orders as necessary Requirements:
Licensed HVAC tradesperson, plumber, or Mechanical Designer
Minimum of five years in plumbing, HVAC, or related fields
Valid G-class Driver’s License required
Proficient in reading technical documents
Excellent communication and customer service skills Utilize your technical skills and expertise to support the Town of Whitby’s growth and safety standards as a Senior Mechanical Inspector.
