We are a busy cafe on Lawrence Ave E in Scarborough, Ontario (near Birchmount Rd), and we are looking for experienced baristas to join our team. Full-time and part time positions are available. This role is for people who already know their way around an espresso machine and can work confidently during a rush.
What you will do
Prepare espresso-based drinks, brewed coffee, teas and specialty beverages to a consistent standard
Dial in espresso, steam and texture milk properly, and keep drink quality high during busy periods
Take orders, handle payments and give friendly, attentive service to every guest
Keep the bar, equipment and seating area clean, stocked and organized
Follow food safety and cleanliness standards at all times
Help with opening and closing duties as scheduled
What we are looking for
At least 1 year of barista experience in a cafe or coffee shop (required)
Availability to work weekends and evenings (required)
Reliable transportation and the ability to commute to the cafe for every scheduled shift (required)
Robust customer service and communication skills
Ability to stay calm, quick and accurate in a rapid-paced environment
Punctual, dependable and a good team player
