Summary
Axis Family Resources Ltd. is hiring a Caregiver Support Worker to provide short-term, targeted intervention for families experiencing crisis or hardship. This program provides goal-based support to parents/caregivers and their children and can also include one-to-one support for youth living independently. The Caregiver Support Worker generally meets with persons served in their homes, the community, or in the office one to two times per week (depending on the needs of the family). The intention of the Caregiver Support program is to work with family members to assist them in developing strategies and skills to address a wide range of challenges, to collaborate with community agencies in a team-based support approach, and to navigate various social systems. Referrals to this program are provided by the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) and are intended to help prevent children from coming into care, keeping families together. The primary goal of Caregiver Support is to help families develop and maintain healthy routines, increase safety, and improve their overall sense of well-being.
