Finance Associate – Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable

About the opportunity

We Staff is recruiting a Finance Associate on behalf of our client, an established company in the food and consumer goods packaging industry.

This role supports accounts receivable, accounts payable, revenue recognition, financial reporting and month-end closing. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized and comfortable working in a quick-paced, high-volume accounting environment.

Key responsibilities
Record daily financial transactions and maintain accurate accounting records and subledgers.
Prepare customer invoices, reconcile sales orders and shipments to billing, and resolve discrepancies.
Apply customer payments and review accounts receivable aging reports.
Process supplier invoices and employee expenses, including purchase order matching, general ledger coding and approval routing.
Reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable subledgers.
Prepare journal entries, accruals and balance sheet reconciliations to support month-end closing.
Maintain item and pricing information in NetSuite.
Prepare and submit GST filings.




Prepare weekly revenue and KPI reports and assist with margin analysis by product, customer and location.
Identify opportunities to improve and automate accounting processes.
Follow internal controls and company policies and support other finance projects as required.

Qualifications
Preferably 3–5 years of accounting experience, including financial analysis and reporting.
Strong understanding of accounts receivable, billing, collections and accounts payable processes.
Working knowledge of full-cycle accounting and how transactions affect financial statements.
Experience in a high-volume billing environment.
Strong Microsoft Excel skills; experience with XLOOKUP, pivot tables and advanced formulas is an asset.
Experience with NetSuite and Nulogy is an asset.
Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills and accuracy.
Strong communication, organization and time-management skills.
Ability to work independently, meet deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.
