Saunders Equipment is looking for a hands-on accountant to manage day-to-day accounting, payroll, banking, month-end close, job costing, inventory, and management reporting.

Key Responsibilities - Manage accounts receivable, including credit checks, payments, statements, and collections;
Process EFTs and online bank payments, and supervise the accounts payable clerk;
Coordinate payroll inputs, commissions, RRSP contributions, and workers' compensation reporting;
Complete month-end close, including reconciliations, accruals, HST, and tax instalments;
Prepare job-costing, inventory, and management reports, including profit and loss by class and job;
Handle specialized transactions such as floor-plan financing, warranty recoveries, CBSA statements, and USD purchases;
Prepare year-end schedules and support the external accountant;
Provide general office support, including phones, mail,



vehicle registrations, and vacation records.

Qualifications - Post-secondary education in accounting or finance, or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
CPA designation, or progress toward one, is an asset;
Five or more years of accounting experience, ideally in a job-costing setting such as equipment, distribution, or construction;
Proficiency with QuickBooks Desktop and Excel;
Experience with EFTs, foreign-currency transactions, and Canadian sales-tax and payroll remittances.
Detail-oriented and organized, with a robust record of meeting deadlines;
Sound judgment and clear, skilled communication;
Able to work independently and handle confidential information.
