Primary Responsibilities:
Perform repair work on fork trucks and related vehicles
Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components and/or systems
Performs inspection, diagnosis and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment
Conducts safety checks on vehicles and equipment
Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work
Service attachments and working tools
Verify and repair emission control systems
Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions
Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required
Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications
Rebuild powertrain components, hydraulic pumps and motors.
Repairs electrical equipment
Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
Lubricates and cleans parts.
Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
Initiates purchase order for parts and machines.
Reading and repairing hydraulic and electrical schematics and systems
Keep maintenance reports and documentation
Skills/Abilities/Qualifications
Licensed or hold a Journeyman license in Automotive or Heavy Equipment
Possess or plan to attain a 310 License
Will consider truck (310T) or auto (310S) technician
Must be an experienced Heavy Duty Mechanic with previous Aerial & Lift Truck experience
A minimum of 3 years experience working with Heavy Equipment
Excellent troubleshooting and technical skills
Superior mechanical aptitude
Shop and/or field work experience
Demonstrated commitment to protected work practices
Valid driver’s license
