Overview Job title: Commercial Property Underwriter - 9985Location: EdmontonDescription Our client is growing, and they're looking for a Commercial Lines Property Underwriter to join the team based out of their Edmonton office.In this role, you'll play a key part in building a profitable and sustainable commercial property portfolio, with a strong emphasis on new business. You'll collaborate closely with brokers and internal partners while applying sound underwriting judgment to assess risk, set terms, and drive smart growth.Responsibilities Underwriting new business, renewals, endorsements, and cancellationsAssessing risk acceptability, coverage terms, and pricingPlacing facultative reinsurance when risks exceed capacityProviding underwriting guidance and support to brokersPartnering with claims, personal lines, and accounting teamsBuilding broker relationships through visits, industry events, and collaborationQualifications 3+ years of commercial property & casualty underwriting experienceStrong knowledge of policy wordings and rating guidelinesExcellent communication, organization, and relationship-building skillsCIP/FCIP designation (or working toward) is an assetYou'll be part of a supportive, people-first culture with social events and team celebrations and an opportunity to build your career with on-going support!The Employer:Our client has been serving Western Canada since 1982.
