The Chef is responsible for maintaining high Italian -food standards and executing the preparation of dishes to be served to restaurant patrons. Attention to detail and a high level of quality control is required for the position. The Chef is responsible for the area of preparation, maintenance of food secure procedures, menu development, portion control,ordering supplies and serving of the restaurant patrons in an efficient manner without compromising quality.

Typical shifts would be 8 hour for 5 day days in a week.This position is subject to altered hour of work arrangement due to operational requirements.

Main Duties
Plan and direct food preparation and cooking activities
Plan menu and ensure food meets standards
Estimate food requirements and may estimate food and labour costs
Supervise activities of sous-chefs,pizza chefs and cooks
Arrange for equipment purchase and repairs




May prepare and cook food on a regular basis,or for special guests or functions
Oversee Kitchen operations
Maintain inventory and records of food , supplies and equipment
Determine size of food portion,estimate food requirements and costs,and monitor and order supplies.
Ensure food is maintained at proper food temperature for food secure requirements and that all staff are adhere to food safety procedures.

Experience
Completion of Secondary School
Culinary education and/or training
Minimum 2 years experience in a supervisory role
Minimum 3 years experience in a senior culinary role (chef;executive chef)
Red seal Endorsement (not required but considered an asset)

Pay: $19.00-$28.00 per hour
