Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced QA Specialist to lead and execute comprehensive testing strategies for complex systems across both GUI and non-GUI environments. This role focuses on ensuring application quality through manual and automated testing practices, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and maintaining compliance with accessibility and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expertise on testing strategy, test planning, tool selection, and resource estimation
- Plan and execute testing for large-scale systems, including integration, stress, and user acceptance testing
- Develop and execute test plans, test scripts, and test cases across multiple components
- Perform functional, integration, regression, and system testing
- Validate system behavior under various conditions and ensure data integrity
- Identify, document, and track defects using tools such as Azure DevOps, JIRA, and ALM
- Collaborate with developers and project teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts using tools like Selenium, UFT, TestComplete, or Postman
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
- Conduct performance, load, and stress testing to validate scalability
- Ensure compliance with accessibility standards (AODA)
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning and retrospectives
- Maintain documentation for test results, coverage, and quality metrics
- Support UAT activities and contribute to release documentation
Qualifications
Must-Have Skills
- 5â10 years of experience in QA and testing across web and mobile platforms
- Strong experience in manual and automation testing (functional, regression, system, integration)
- Hands-on expertise with Azure DevOps or similar defect tracking tools
- Experience developing and executing automated test scripts
- Robust knowledge of test planning, defect triage, and test case development
- Experience with performance testing (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner)
- Understanding of SDLC and QA methodologies
- Experience with accessibility testing (AODA standards)
Technical Skills
- Automation tools: Selenium, UFT, TestComplete, Postman
- Scripting: Python, JavaScript, or similar
- Database validation and query writing
- CI/CD pipeline integration
- Front-end technologies (HTML5, UX, accessibility tools)
- Development exposure (Java, Angular) is an asset
General Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in Agile/Scrum environments
- Proven ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities
Nice-to-Have
- Public sector or government experience
- Contact center systems experience
- Bilingual testing experience
